It’s Pisces season and we’re back to Reinvent Revolution.
As we know, the thought of revolution is overwhelming. It is a force way larger than any one of us individually, which is something Pisces knows a thing or two about.
Pisces is all about the bigger picture, the dissolution of separation, seeing everyone and everything as part of an interconnected whole. It can be a confusing place where individual power gets lost in the sea and feels hard to harness. After all, what does it mean to be a drop in the ocean? Pisces would much rather be part of the mythic tidal wave, pulled into being by greater forces outside itself.
It is a struggle for Pisces to toggle between the ease of dreamland, and the pain of reality. They are very energetically open and feel the pain of this world in profound ways that are hard to hold, making their trips to dreamland important for their ability to take breaks from the heaviness of this world.
But the shadow potential for Pisces is never actually doing anything other than escaping reality by living only in the happy dream that they are never tasked with actualizing.
Collectively we are currently waking up from the American dream. Many people have been awake for a long time, and many people are waking up right now. And some yet are still refusing to get out of bed, hoping this will all just go away and get better. A dream that feels so good to numb out on; but the reality is that it isn’t going to get better without us making it better. The hero isn’t coming to save us, and we are tasked with being the ones we have been waiting for. Which is a harsh reality to wake up into.
The transition from dreamland to reality is a bit overwhelming and disorienting. You don’t jump out of bed straight into your shoes in the morning (at least I don’t anyway), it can be a bit confusing and a slow process to come back to reality, get your wits about you, and get going with the day ahead.
So how can we fight the urge to roll over, hit snooze and go back to sleep due to overwhelm of the task at hand?
The medicine for Pisces can be found in Virgo, which asks us to get grounded, start small, and clarify.
As Erica talks about in Intention Obsession, Pisces is very communal, seeing everything as part of a whole. The more we can do for others, the better it is for everyone. So start small, and get grounded by engaging. We actualize the dream of a better world by engaging with that world. Touching and giving energy and momentum to the parts that are already real and in front of us right here right now.
Donate goods or a shift to local community programs like a food pantry, a mutual aid fund, a shelter, an arts program, a community organizer. There are so many ways to get involved. Don’t get overwhelmed by the task of trying to figure out the whole worlds problems, plug into systems that already exist supporting causes that you care about to get the ball rolling and see where the tidal wave takes you.
