Morning:

As soon as I wake up in the morning I drink a glass of water, and I add selenite essence so I can start the day out with a blank slate. After that I get ready to go for my morning walk- this gives me a chance to be with myself and nature before my day truly starts! I’m #blessed to be living so close to the ocean, so I like to go down to the water and say hello, then make my journey to the rose garden in my neighborhood to say hi to the plants and flowers as well. This walk has honestly been such a game changer in my routine. I feel so much more aware and connected throughout the day and I have felt a difference in my mood when I’m not able to go on my morning walk.

Another integral part of my AM routine is listening to “This is the Day” by The The. Being intentional about the music I listen to is a major part of my magical practice, and this song just always puts me in the best headspace for endless opportunities and experiences. It’s also just a super upbeat song and it really does a good job of waking me up.

Mid-day:

My days off are in the middle of the week, so I’m usually flying solo during the day. I’ve been spending a lot of my time at the beach, which still feels so magical that it’s very accessible to me. I love almost everything about a beach day: sitting in the warm sun, finding treasures at low tide, seeing other people having fun together, and most of all swimming! It’s my favorite form of exercise but I also love just floating- it’s a meditation for me. I like to have my ears submerged so I can only hear the water around me. I close my eyes, let the waves roll underneath my body and feel the sun shining down on me, filling me with light and joy.

Summer is definitely playtime for me, so it’s hard for me to want to do anything other than be outside frolicking about. This is when my creative practices can sometimes get pushed to the side, so I have to discipline myself. I try to draw for at least 30 mins every day whether it’s a work in progress or a new project.

Evening:

The evening is when I like to check in with my houseplants and give them some individual attention before I get ready to end my day, usually by hanging out with them in my living room while I watch TV. They provide a quiet presence while I react to whatever I’m watching (right now that's Summer House). Reality television is definitely an exercise in gratitude for me that my own interpersonal relationships are fairly healthy and normal.

I used to be super crusty and not have any semblance of a skincare routine (I was going to sleep with makeup on and no moisturizer in sight)! I’ve since changed my outlook and turned it into a glamour ritual which has really improved not only my confidence, but also the way my skin looks… shocker. After that I take my bedtime essences; Lucid dreaming essence made by our friend Grace at Flowers and Stars, and Mugwort glycerite made by former shop witch (but forever coven member) Brenda! Then I like to pull some cards to get some outlook on my dreams for the night- I’ve been really liking the Color Visions Oracle for this.
