HausWitch at Home!

HausWitch at Home!

Hi! My name is Erica Feldmann and I believe that everyone has a right to a cozy life! In 2012 I started a blog called HausWitch with the aim of navigating the world of micro-budget interior decorating with a bit of witchcraft thrown in for good measure. 8+ years later HausWitch has grown beyond what I ever could have imagined. With a flagship store in Salem, MA, a line of home-related spell kits, LightHaus magical cleaning products and a whole-ass book called HausMagick: Transform Your Home with Witchcraft published by HarperCollins. I can truly say the dream is real

This past summer my wife and I bought our first home, (and yes, we did use the DreamHaus spell kit to get it) a condo in the heart of downtown Salem. The process of furnishing and decorating it has inspired me to get back in the habit of sharing more about my process when curating a space. This new dreamseed is called “HausWitch at Home” and will exist mainly through blog posts on the HausWitch Community Page and on its very own Instagram @hauswitchathome. This account will be a little more personal while the original @hauswitch account will stay shop-centric.

My aim is to share ideas on creating a beautiful sanctuary in the most sustainable, ethical and intentional way possible. I want to explore ways we can push back against capitalism when it comes to our lifestyle. To look at how we can be more conscious consumers when it comes to our spaces. Where should we be thrifty and where should we invest in better not more when budget allows? Which furniture and home goods companies are trying to be in right-relationship with the planet and all of the living beings on it…and which are billionaire-backed brands that don’t care about the harm they cause and don’t deserve any more of our hard-earned coin or space on our shelves?

Oh, and don’t forget about the witchcraft! Of course we’ll be brewing potions, setting up altars, collaborating with the moon, manifesting Craigslist miracles, casting cleaning spells and probably taking A-LOT of magical baths. Magick is an indispensable part of my reality and I hope it will become part of yours as well. This is about healing your inner space thru your outer space and vice versa.

The hearth fire is lit and the cauldron is boiling. The moon is in Libra and the Witches say “Share the Work”.
